Chocolate Covered Oreos

Yesterday I finally finished and sent in my last paper of the semester! I decided to celebrate by making my famous chocolate covered Oreos (well... famous to me!). They're very easy to make and are a great treat to bring to parties and give as gifts. Here's what you do:

What you'll need is a box of Oreos or similar sandwich cookies (I used the Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe Joe's), a bag of chocolate, and some sprinkles or topping of some sort.

First, melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Just like for the Peppermint BarkΒ and the Fall Pretzel Sticks.

When it's melted spread it on both sides of about half the Oreo, then sprinkle on the topping while its still melted. Place the cookie on wax paper. Repeat until you've covered all the Oreos and let the chocolate harden.

It's the simplest process and the product is great! I brought them, along with the peppermint bark to a party last night. Perfect holiday treat to bring along. One of the girls had made Ritz crackers with peanut butter and covered them in white chocolate. OMG. Seriously delicious. I need to try that next!
