As I was scrolling on Pinterest in preparation for the Christmas season, one of the things I kept seeing was amazing DIY Advent Calendars. I decided that I would make my own also! I took a few ideas from my favorite ones that I found on Pinterest and combined them to make an adorable Advent Calendar for December! It was pretty easy. Here's how I did it: A few months ago I strung some twine up on this frame to use it to hang pictures in my room. I hadn't been able to find a place for it so I decided to use this as the frame for my Advent Calendar.
Most of the supplies came from Michael's. Definitely my go-to for anything DIY or crafty!
The first thing I did was string some twinkle lights from Anthropologie around the frame to give it that Christmas feel.
I chose to use gift tags as the day markers for this calendar. Michael's sold really cute ones with glitter but I didn't want them all to be glittery, so I bought some cardboard paper and cut out my own tags.
Then, I organized my tags in the order that I wanted them to go. I chose to put a glittery one every three tags and alternate colors. I used tiny clothes pins to pin them to the twine in the frame.
Lastly, I wrote numbers on each card and I wrote some special dates and reminders on a few of them to make it more fun as you go through the month!
I am so excited to be able to countdown to my favorite day with my new Advent Calendar. It's now front and center on the mantle in my house!
I can't wait to share more with you during my favorite time of year!
P.S. See those adorable Christmas terrariums on either side of the calendar? Those are coming up on the blog later this week! Stay tuned!
